Zakynthos is a beautiful green island in Greece, surrounded by the clear blue Ionian Sea. Located in de western part of Greece, west of the Peloponnesian Peninsula and only 300 km (180 miles) from Athens, from where it can be reached in a 45-minute flight. The trip can also be made by car but you will need to catch a ferry boat – the closest port is Killini. Visitors can enjoy fantastic wide sandy beaches, swim in the company of sea turtles, sailboat, go surfing, go snorkeling or scuba diving between rocks and in underwater caves. Actually, Zakynthos is an underwater paradise and one of the first choices for divers in the Mediterranean Sea, mainly the famous Keri Caves.
